Pyramid in Rome

Why is there a pyramid in Rome?

The Pyramid of Caius Cestius is a moor built tomb erected between 18 and 12 BC for Gaius Cestius Epulo. This pyramid is responsible for misleading many European scholars to believe the original pyramids of Egypt looked like this, pointy and steep.

That’s why many classic works of literature have incorrect drawings of the Egyptian pyramids. He also built himself a castle!
